Pre-build decisions and thoughts

We are about to start having my new art studio built. At my last house in Woodland Park I built one but then we had to move. This time I will make it more of a studio instead of trying to make it a bedroom that I am using as a studio. I don't care so much about resale value in this house. Or maybe I am just convinced that an art studio plus four bedrooms makes a pretty nice house. I would have jumped at any chance to get a studio designed by/for an artist already in the house. Anyway, that is why I am building this the way that I am.

So far I know that it will be about 21x13 feet interior dimensions. I have some tiles and paint picked out, but am not completely decided. For paint I like Glidden's Warm Grey Flannel, Amethyst Haze, and Antique Purple. Not as purply as they sound, more like mauvey greys. Again, resale value not a concern so I can paint it whatever colors I want!!!!

I am trying to decide where to place the windows. I know on the south wall there will be a huge window so I can lay in the sun like a cat and read my art books. The west wall will have two medium sized windows. I think I might place them high like clerestory windows but am not sure. The north wall will have a large window placed at normal height. I have a view of Denver out that window, and at night I like to look at the lights. The east wall is attached to the existing house so there won't be windows but there will be a large closet for canvases. My watercolor paper rack and deep sink are also going on the east wall.
